Critical Infrastructure System Director
Join us in building sustainable, high-performance AI infrastructure at scale.
EcoDataCenter is one of Europe’s leading AI hubs, designing, building, and operating data centers in Sweden for the most demanding cloud and AI workloads. Our mission is to ensure that the digital infrastructure society depends on operates reliably — 24/7. At the same time, we set the standard for sustainability, safety, and quality within our industry.
With us, you will work with state-of-the-art technology in a Swedish company with deep roots and a strong local presence in Dalarna. Here, traditional industrial craftsmanship meets cutting-edge technology — from power systems, cooling, and backup generation to sophisticated monitoring and control systems.
Our vision is to create a world where digital infrastructurepowers global innovation and local progress.
With a growing site in Falun, we are now taking the next major step: building a new megacampus in Borlänge. At the historic Kvarnsveden paper mill site, we are creating the future workplace for Dalarna — a hub for sustainable, high-tech data centers.
About the Role: As a Critical Infrastructure System Director, you lead and evolve NOC (Network Operations Center) and OT (Operational Technology) operations to deliver secure, stable, and scalable performance across multiple facilities. You take ownership of governance, architectural integrity, resilience, and continuous improvement across monitoring, OT platforms, and critical infrastructure systems. You will work closely with Datacenter Campus on local actions and feedback, with Operational Excellence on standards and improvement methodologies, and with Risk & Compliance on OT risks, access control, and audit evidence. Together with Customer & Performance, you will ensure clear communication on incident status and planned maintenance windows.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure robust 24/7 monitoring, including triage, logging, clearly defined response times, and established escalation procedures.
Lead the stable and secure management of OT platforms and CI systems (BMS/EPMS), overseeing integrations, backup and recovery processes, patch management, controlled access, and vendor coordination.
Develop, test, and maintain business continuity and resilience plans for OT/NOC and CI systems, ensuring regular drills and clearly defined fallback procedures.
Be responsible for establishing and maintaining a clear, consistently applied alarm policy, ensuring proper naming, tagging, reduction of nuisance alarms, and high data quality - including follow-up and measurable improvements.
Ensure high‑quality documentation and evidence to support incident, problem, and change processes, as well as audit requirements.
Be responsible for root cause analyses and corrective actions, and ensure that handover requirements, system documentation, and baselines meet the criteria for “Ready for Operation.”
Your Profile: To succeed in this role, you bring a strong interest in technology and relevant education in the field. You have a solid understanding of systems in complex operational environments and proven experience leading teams.
Your background includes:
Experience in critical operations and maintenance, preferably including 24/7 monitoring and complex technical systems.
Solid knowledge of critical infrastructure, including electrical power, cooling, control systems, and OT/ICS environments.
Solid knowledge of OT and control systems such as BMS/EPMS, monitoring and alarm systems, and system integrations.
Experience managing and developing technical systems or platforms in production environments, with a strong focus on stability and security.
Solid knowledge of system documentation, baselines, and structured incident, problem, and change management processes.
Documented experience in root cause analysis and structured improvement initiatives, with the ability to turn insights into concrete actions.
